Adopt A Penguin Follow a unique colony at the end of the world
Our story starts at Port Lockroy on the tiny Goudier Island on the Antarctic peninsula where we run the world’s southernmost post office, surrounded by incredible scenery and 1,000 gentoo penguins. The colony made their home with us on the Island over 30 years ago and we have been studying and contributing to their protection ever since.
You can adopt a penguin and help the gentoos and their home in Antarctica. Adoptions also make the perfect gift.

Protect the precious habitat
Your adoption will support the monitoring of the colony and conservation on site at Port Lockroy. With your help, we can protect areas of the island from human interaction and continue studying the breeding success of the gentoos every year. As a charity we are dependent on donations and every gift, adoption and membership helps to support our activity both in Antarctica and around the world.
Penguin surveys
Penguins are important animals within Antarctica's precious ecosystem. We work with the British Antarctic Survey to study the colony to better understand how they are adapting to a changing environment. Port Lockroy is the only place in Antarctica where we can monitor an entire breeding season and gather data every year. Our study started over 20 years ago and offers important insights into the gentoo’s long-term survival.
