Whippet Up is a community asset based project, focused on art, wellbeing and enterprise, aiming to create a multi media piece that explores images related to Antarctica.
It is great to see that already so many likeminded individuals with a passion and skill for art and creativity are gathering in Redcar Bellamy Pavilion every Monday from 11:00-15:00 and Tuesdays, for Choosedays Wellbeing in the Woods at Saltburn Woodland centre, 11:00-15:00.
The project began with recycling Christmas wrapping paper, junk mail and old magazines to create collages of Antarctic colour. It is great to see the project recognises the fragility of Antarctica and aims to incorporate environmental considerations in their artistic process.
The most exciting part… the form the finished piece will take is not yet confirmed, and the project hope that the final piece will grow from experimentation, discussion and research about Antarctica.
If you want a wellness boost or know anyone that might, the project are still looking for more creative minds, the project a great way of involving everyone with different abilities, if you are local to Redcar or Saltburn make sure to get in touch with the team via email, social media or by calling 07771873057.
