Our mission

We exist to preserve, enhance and promote British Antarctic heritage to engage, inform and inspire a global audience.

We actively manage the physical heritage of human endeavour in Antarctica through a sustainable conservation programme and use the stories they hold to inspire people to discover, enjoy and respect our Antarctic history.

Grants & Public Programme

Conservation

The conservation and restoration of our historic sites and artefacts is the hugely challenging and expensive focus of our work. All funds we raise and earn are ploughed back into supporting our heritage conservation and public engagement programmes.

Heritage conservation in the most hostile climate on Earth takes great resource and will only continue with your help.

As little as £50 makes a difference – that’s how much it costs for us to conserve a small artefact like a food can or paperback book. More and we will be able to carry on our vital work to preserve these unique collections and buildings for future generations.
